Education

Kurt holds a PhD in Business Economics by the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona and a Master in Business Administration by the same university. He gained his undergraduate degree in the Catholic University of Leuven.

Research interests

His research interests focus in the area of corporate governance, strategic management, CSR and financial accounting

Kurt Desender is an Assistant Professor (with tenure) in the Department of Business Administration at the University Carlos III. He was a visiting scholar at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2009 and 2013. In 2010, he received his PhD degree in Economics, Management and Organization from the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona. His research interests lay in the areas of Corporate Governance, Corporate Social Responsibility, Strategic Management and Financial Accounting. His work has been published in some of the reference journals in Management, such as Academy of Management Annals, Strategic Management Journal, Journal of International Business Studies.
