role=\"tabpanel\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span><p>Margarita Samart\u00edn is a Tenured Professor of Financial Economics in the Department of Business Economics at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. She holds a European Doctorate in Quantitative Economics from CORE (Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium), the London School of Economics (England), DELTA (France) and the University of Bonn (Germany). She also holds a Master's degree in Economic Sciences from the Catholic University of Louvain (Belgium) and a degree in Economic and Business Sciences from the University of Cantabria. She teaches Financial Economics and Banking at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.   <br><br>Margarita has focused her research on the field of banking economics, and in particular has studied the role of banks in the economy, financial crises and banking regulation. Her works have been published in international journals such as Review of Finance, Journal of Banking and Finance, Geneva Papers on Risk and Insurance Theory, Journal of Financial Stability and Financial Markets, Institutions and Instruments. <br><br>Currently, Margarita is the director of the Master's Degree in Actuarial and Financial Sciences at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. She is also the deputy director of the Specialization Course in Telecommunications Economics, within the Master's Degree in Industrial Economics at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.
