Este semestre tenemos el placer de contar con nosotros con el profesor Verlin B. Hinsz<\/a>, catedr\u00e1tico en la North Dakota State University (NDSU), en Fargo, Dakota del Norte (EEUU). El profesor Hinsz tiene una dilatada carrera de m\u00e1s de 30 a\u00f1os ocupando diversos cargos acad\u00e9micos y ejecutivos en dicha instituci\u00f3n. Su investigaci\u00f3n y docencia se centran, principalmente, en el estudio de la psicolog\u00eda social y la psicolog\u00eda del trabajo y organizativa. Ha publicado m\u00e1s de 90 art\u00edculos y cap\u00edtulos de libro, y ha intervenido en m\u00e1s de 190 ponencias tanto nacionales como internacionales.

El principal objetivo de su investigaci\u00f3n versa sobre el proceso del pensamiento e influencias sociales que impactan en las opiniones y decisiones de grupos e individuos y que, en \u00faltima instancia, afectan al desempe\u00f1o de sus tareas. Su investigaci\u00f3n ha sido patrocinada por la National Science Foundation, Air Force Office of Scientific Research, National Institutes of Health, US Department of Agriculture, as\u00ed como otras instituciones de \u00e1mbito investigador. El prof. Hinsz tambi\u00e9n realiza labores de consultor\u00eda en diferentes agencias federales de investigaci\u00f3n, y ha sido Fellow en siete organizaciones profesionales. Finalmente, se\u00f1alamos que el profesor Hinsz tambi\u00e9n trabaja en el National Research Council review panel, y ha recibido numerosas distinciones de la NDSU por sus investigaciones y actividades docentes.<\/p>\n
