Extracurricular courses taught free of charge by the Master in Actuarial and Financial Sciences

As every year, the Master in Actuarial and Financial Sciences offers second-year students the possibility of expanding their knowledge in different aspects of the actuarial environment optionally and at no cost.

In the current academic year, students have had the opportunity to attend the following courses:

  • Machine Learning course, taught by Professor José Garrido. PhD. José Garrido is a professor of actuarial sciences in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Concordia University, in Montreal, Canada. His research areas are actuarial and financial mathematics; in particular risk theory, accident models, insurance data analysis, etc.
  • Non-Life Technical Reserves Course taught by Professor Agustín Saggese, Manager of EY Actuarial Services and actuary specialized in Non-Life insurance.
  • Quantee course, non-life rate design tool. Quantee is the insure tech that provides the only comprehensive pricing platform for insurers and MGAs, integrable with open source and cloud. The course was taught by Juan Sánchez Ruber, currently a Senior Actuarial Consultant at Quantee.
