This semester we have the pleasure of having Professor Verlin B. Hinsz, professor at North Dakota State University (NDSU), in Fargo, North Dakota (USA). Professor Hinsz has an extensive career of more than 30 years holding various academic and executive positions at said institution. His research and teaching focus primarily on the study of social psychology and work and organizational psychology. He has published more than 90 articles and book chapters, and has participated in more than 190 national and international presentations.
The main objective of his research concerns the process of thought and social influences that impact the opinions and decisions of groups and individuals and that, ultimately, affect the performance of their tasks. His research has been sponsored by the National Science Foundation, Air Force Office of Scientific Research, National Institutes of Health, US Department of Agriculture, as well as other research institutions. Prof. Hinsz also performs consulting work in different federal research agencies, and has been a Fellow in seven professional organizations. Finally, we note that Professor Hinsz also works on the National Research Council review panel, and has received numerous awards from NDSU for his research and teaching activities.
