Yoonha Kim is a visiting professor of Management in the Business faculty. Previously, she was a visiting professor at the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown.
Her research interests focus on the intersection between strategic human capital and entrepreneurship. More specifically, she investigates the impact of labor market frictions on companies' hiring decisions and workers' professional preferences. Given that individuals' decisions regarding the opening of new businesses should be considered when evaluating the aforementioned repercussions, Yoonha also researches the motivations underlying entrepreneurship and the patterns of small business formation at different demographic and geographic levels. In addition, part of her current research focuses on studying these issues in the context of immigrant workers in the US.
Yoonha obtained her doctorate and master's degree from the Haas School of Business at the University of California-Berkeley. Also, prior to pursuing her doctorate, she had worked at Morgan Stanley (New York) and graduated in Applied Mathematics and Economics from Brown University.
