Amadeus
Data Summary
AMADEUS is a comprehensive pan-European database containing financial information on 11 million public and private companies in 41 European countries. It combines data from over 30 regional providers specializing in information (PI). The accounts are in a standardized format (up to 10 years), consolidated and non-consolidated, financial ratios, activities, and ownership of approximately 11 million companies throughout Europe, including Eastern Europe.
A standard company report includes: 24 balance sheet items, 25 profit and loss account items, and 26 ratios, descriptive information including the business description and activity codes (NACE 2, NAICS, or US SIC can be used throughout the database), ownership information that is investigated by BvD’s own team of consultants. A news module contains information from Reuters’, Dow Jones, the FT, as well as M&A news and rumors from BvD ZEPHYR. AMADEUS also contains security and pricing information and links to an executive report with comprehensive charts, in addition to a report that compares the finances of the company’s default peer group. AMADEUS also includes ratings. A company tree diagram instantly illustrates the group structure.
In line with the other BvDEP Internet products, AMADEUS offers 2 search formats. The multi-step quick search provides a search screen using the 11 most popular criteria to obtain quick answers to basic queries. Expert mode has more than 100 search criteria and features such as Boolean logic (and, or, not) and time series search. The comprehensive analysis software allows you to compare companies with each other and produce tables and graphs to illustrate your results. These can be downloaded into most packages.
