RepRisk systematically identifies and monitors significant ESG risks and violations of international standards that may have repercussions on a company’s reputation, regulatory compliance, and finances.

The premium dataset includes RepRisk data for all companies, both listed and unlisted, on the RepRisk ESG Risk Platform that have been exposed to ESG and business conduct risks, i.e., approximately 155,000 companies across all sectors and geographies, including frontier and emerging markets. The dataset includes the complete available history (uninterrupted time series since January 2007).

As of June 2021, the RepRisk platform includes more than 175,000 companies associated with risk incidents. Of these 175,000 companies, approximately 15% are publicly traded companies and approximately 85% are privately held companies.

The companies on the RepRisk platform come from all sectors and countries. The geographical distribution is as follows: approximately 30% of the companies are based in North America, 30% in Asia, 25% in Europe, 7% in Latin America and the Caribbean, 4% in Africa, and 4% in Oceania. The RepRisk platform also includes risk profiles of more than 45,000 projects (e.g., mines, oil pipelines, chemical plants, ports, factories, pulp mills, plantations, etc.), as well as from all sectors and countries worldwide. In addition, the RepRisk platform provides information on other entities, such as NGOs (more than 20,000) and government agencies (more than 15,000).

RepRisk’s methodology is based on issues and events, rather than companies. The RepRisk platform grows every day as new relevant information is collected and analyzed. Between 30 and 50 new companies are added each day. RepRisk’s primary research scope comprises 28 broad, comprehensive, and mutually exclusive ESG issues. In addition, RepRisk covers 73 thematic tags, ESG «hot topics,» and topics that are an extension of RepRisk’s primary research scope of 28 ESG issues.
