Macro-finance and financial history.
Lukas is currently an Assistant Professor of Finance at the University Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M), where he researches on the economic and social consequences of macro-financial developments. His work is historically oriented and based on long-run panel studies of financial and national accounts for most of the developed world, over the course of the 20th century up until today.
Lukas received his doctorate from the University of Mannheim in 2024 (summa cum laude), his master's degree from the University of Bayreuth and his bachelor's degree from the University of Cologne. In the spring of 2022, he was a visiting PhD student at the University Pompeu Fabra.
