Research Interests

Macrofinance and financial history.

Lukas is currently an Assistant Professor of Finance at the Carlos III University of Madrid (UC3M), where he researches the economic and social consequences of macrofinancial developments. His work has a historical orientation and is based on long-term panel studies of the financial and national accounts of most of the developed world, throughout the 20th century to the present.

Lukas obtained his doctorate from the University of Mannheim in 2024 (summa cum laude), his master's degree from the University of Bayreuth, and his bachelor's degree from the University of Cologne. In the spring of 2022, he was a visiting doctoral student at the Pompeu Fabra University.
