At the beginning of the MBA year, we organize a meeting with entrepreneurs and inventors where MBA students have a chance to learn more about the innovations that are being developed, their technical specifications, and particularly their business applications and potential. MBA students have direct access to all the relevant information related to these technologies and learn this from original sources (the inventors and entrepreneurs themselves).

Following this meeting, students get together to identify their interests and choose which innovations they want to work with. In the process, they further interact with inventors and entrepreneurs and are guided by our expert tutors, who have practical experience in the development of business projects. Once the projects are chosen, each team of students works together to develop a business plan that helps the entrepreneur move its business forward or, in the case of patents, helps inventors assess the business value of their invention.

The projects that students have been involved in pertain to a wide variety of areas and industries, such as photonics, aerospace, or health sciences. All projects are at the frontier of technological development and therefore provide excellent opportunities for practical learning.

This unique program is developed in partnership with the UC3M Science Park, located in the “Leganes Tecnologico” business district in Madrid. The Science Park is specialized in high technology projects and is associated to the European Space Agency (ESA) as a Business Incubator Center. It is also a member of the International of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation (IASP).
