Rafael Moreno, President of the IAE, presented the services and the most relevant merits to the profession accredited by both candidates proposed by the Governing Board, approving their designation by the General Assembly with the unanimity of the more than 100 participating collegiate, a figure unparalleled in regarding participation in this important governing body of the Institute.
“The Institute of Spanish Actuaries joins a common practice in other professional actuarial institutions such as the European Actuarial Association (EAA) and does so by naming the Spanish actuary who has made the most effort and has given the most success to our profession and the IAE and the foreign actuary who has been the authentic architect of the new governance system of the AAE and who has collaborated in a decisive way so that the participation of the IAE in said European association has been developing and reaching more relevant bodies ”, declared Rafael Moreno after the holding of the Assembly.
Luis María Sáez de Jáuregui has been, among many other things, President (2012-2016) and General Secretary (2005-2009 and 2009-2012) of the Institute of Spanish Actuaries and is Member of the Governing Board since 2016, being the first actuary to be part of five consecutive Governing Boards, occupying multiple relevant positions over more than 15 years. At present, he is also Officer and Member of the Board of Directors of the EAA, being the first Spanish actuary in that position.
Professor Ph D. Luis María Sáez de Jáuregui teaches the subject Pension plans and social security systems in the master’s degree in Actuarial and Financial Sciences at the Carlos III University of Madrid.
