Carlos III University of Madrid (UC3M) has been ranked as the best Spanish public university in the 13th edition of the CyD Ranking by the Knowledge and Development Foundation. The institution shares this distinction with the Autonomous University of Barcelona and achieves second place overall among all universities analyzed (public and private), second only to the University of Navarra.
The CyD ranking also analyzes the top three universities in ten subject areas: Business Administration, Economics, Political Science, Law, Sociology, History, Education, Journalism and Communication, Earth Sciences/Geology, and Environmental Sciences and Engineering. In this ranking, UC3M holds first place in Journalism and Communication, second place in Political Science and Sociology, and third place in Law.
This leadership extends to the overall dimensions of the ranking. The ranking takes into account 36 indicators grouped into five dimensions. In these, UC3M ranks first nationally in teaching and learning, knowledge transfer, and international orientation.
This edition presents the results from 84 universities: 48 public, representing 100% of the total, and 36 private, representing 75%. The CyD Foundation’s main objective is to analyze and promote the contribution of universities to the country’s economic and social development, as well as to strengthen ties between universities, the business sector, and society at large.
