13 UC3M degrees among the best in Spain in the latest edition of El Mundo’s ranking of 50 careers

Carlos III University of Madrid (UC3M) has 13 of its degree programs included in the latest edition of the “50 Degrees” ranking published by the newspaper El Mundo. This report identifies the 50 most in-demand degrees among students and selects the five best universities in Spain to study them. In this edition, UC3M has increased its representation compared to last year, a significant result considering that the University only offers 16 of the 50 degrees analyzed in the study. Thus, almost all of its evaluated academic programs have achieved top positions nationally.

Within the ranking, three UC3M degrees occupy the top position: the Double Degree in Law and Business Administration, the Degree in Finance and Accounting, and the Degree in International Relations. Furthermore, four of the institution’s degrees are ranked second nationally: the Degree in Business Administration, the Degree in Data Science and Engineering, the Degree in Law, and the Degree in Economics.

In third place are the degrees in Audiovisual Communication and in Labor Relations and Employment. Meanwhile, the degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Telecommunications Engineering occupy fourth place.

This ranking is compiled after analyzing 27 selection criteria, the opinions of teaching staff, and other external studies such as results in international rankings, reports from the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA), and results from reports by Spanish universities, among others. Based on this analysis, a ranking is established that takes into account the number of degrees ranked in the top five positions.

UC3M is a Spanish public university that excels in research, teaching, and innovation. It ranks as the top Spanish public university for graduate employability according to The Global University Employability Ranking and Survey 2026; among the top universities in Spain for its overall performance in the latest edition of the U-Ranking; and among the best universities in the world in the QS World University Rankings 2026. Furthermore, it is the first university in Europe to achieve ACEEU dual accreditation for its contribution and impact on the industrial and social fabric. It also holds other accreditations and quality distinctions, such as the EUR-ACE label in the field of engineering and AACSB accreditation for its business and finance programs.
