The paper "Team Cognition at a Crossroad: Toward Conceptual Integration and Network Configurations" by UC3M Business Ramon Rico, Susan Mohammed from PennState University, and Kent Alipour from East Carolina University, has recently been accepted for publication by the Academy of Management Annals. In their conceptual work the authors examine the topic of team cognition, with the purpose of organizing, synthesizing, and reconciling existing contributions, as well as highlighting potential fruitful avenues for future research. In particular, the paper synthesizes ten disjointed team cognition constructs into three overarching dimensions, thereby establishing a common vocabulary to describe team cognition. Furthermore, the paper also examines the potential of networks as a unifying methodological tool for the literature, providing a set of measurement techniques which permit more expansive and nuanced research questions to be answered.
