The Master in Actuarial and Financial Sciences convenes the first meeting of its Advisory Council.

The Advisory Council, which is chaired by the Director of the Master Margarita Samartín Sáenz, is made up of the Academic Council of the Master and by outstanding professionals from different leading companies in the sector such as Axa Spain, Deloitte, Management Solutions, Mapfre, Mutualidad de la Abogacía, Santalucia Insurance and Swiss Re.

The objectives of the Council are established:

1. Take advantage of the privileged location of the master's degree in Madrid (the nerve centre of the financial and insurance industry) to establish a direct dialogue with the main market agents in the actuarial sector.

2. Know first-hand their needs when designing the training initiatives of the master's degree, with the following purpose:

• Improve the training of future master's graduates.

• Create incentives for such training.

• Propose topics of maximum interest in the Master's Thesis.

Once the contents of the master's degree were reviewed, the participants in the council gave their opinion and indicated what, in their opinion, would be interesting to improve or expand both within the curriculum and in the courses and activities that the master's degree offers free of charge and voluntarily to its students, within the general line of the master's degree of continuous updating and review of contents.

After the interventions of the speakers and, based on their comments, the following improvement actions were established:

1. All initiatives will be analyzed in the next academic commission, with the aim of implementing these measures within extracurricular training.

2. The training suggestions that fit within the curricular contents will be studied in the faculty meetings by area.
