Actuarial Day: LIBERTY SEGUROS

Diego Ospina, Pricing Analyst at Liberty Seguros, presented Liberty Seguros, as a "non-life" oriented company originating in the US and with projects around the world, since its market is divided into three: America, Europe and Latin America and Asia. He also explained that, within the company, the profile of the actuary is focused on the Pricing area, divided into street pricing, Demand and Risk. The latter is dedicated to detecting the frequency and average cost through claims models, for which reason he presented real examples of how they are developed in order to be able to process the variables, understand them and model them so that each project they have in the company be successful. Also, he explained how digital work (Machine Learning) facilitates data processing according to what is being pursued in each case.

On the other hand, he interacted with the students throughout the presentation, explaining his personal situation and how he has grown professionally within the company. He explained the values of the company and the benefits it offers its employees (teleworking, rotation programs, training, help for the SOA exams... etc.) and then explained how the selection process is for both interns and workers.

Finally, a question and answer session was opened to clarify doubts and provide more information to the attendees.

Liberty Seguros arrived in Spain at the beginning of 2001. Today the company is the 8th insurance group in cars and the 10th in home insurance. 1,500 employees are participants in the rapid growth that Liberty Seguros has experienced in our country.
