Insurance Law Course

The course was born with the objective of:

  • Create a learning experience that allows interested persons to know the legal practice of the insurance activity.
  • Achieve an initial framework for insurance law, its social function and the multiple professional possibilities.
  • Give answers to the following questions from a theoretical approach and a practical approach:
    • What should you know about an insurance policy?
    • Who can be insurance distributors?
    • What is the governance system of insurance companies and how does it work?
    • Can anyone access the insurance activity?
  • Solve practical cases:
    • Hiring insurance.
    • Acquisition of an insurance company and its impact on the different types of distributors.
    • Appointment of directors and responsibility.

The legal team of SANTALUCÍA has taught the program under the direction of UC3M Commercial Law professors, Marta García Mandaloniz and Félix Benito Osma, and Alejandro Pérez Lafuente, director of Corporate and Business Legal Advice for the insurer, there will be four other professionals from SANTALUCÍA as trainers: Ángel Gasco, responsible for New Technologies and Privacy Litigation; María Ocaña, Coordinator of the Legal Area of Corporate Business and International Compliance; Eduardo Camacho, legal manager of Product Development and Icíar Acosta (a senior lawyer in the Corporate Governance Area).

This initiative was born with the intention of lasting over time, so in June there will be a second module that will allow students to obtain a credit ECTS.
