Actuarial Days-Master in Actuarial and Financial Sciences. National Re Presentation .

Within the framework of the Actuarial Days, the talk was attended by Nacional Re, Marcos Acosta (director Ramos Personales) and Marina de Eguiluz (responsible for HR).

Marcos Acosta began the presentation of Nacional Re as a leading reinsurer in Spain with 100% Spanish capital and an international presence (Europe). In addition, they explained what reinsurance and risk analysis are, commenting on what is done within the world of reinsurance, first exposing a more legal basis and, later, with the opinions of the students, explaining the proportional and non-proportional risk criteria, the types of contracts that exist and the benefits that are obtained. He also commented on how reinsurance reduces the volatility of claims, allows insurers to underwrite higher risks and gives them stability (protects solvency).

On the other hand, the mission and values of the company and the different departments that make it up were exposed: Commercial Department (how the client is advised from a more technical perspective. Technical visits), Technical Department (search for results such as premiums in areas such as Cars, Reserves, Claims, Cat Nat (Natural Catastrophes), etc. always taking into account the value chain between Pricing - Capital - Reserving), Administrative-Financial department (acts as a back office with various divisions (Accounting, Taxation, Solvency II, Reporting, Financial Statements...) and the HR department (with talent management as a fundamental pillar). At this point, Marina de Eguiluz explained how involvement, commitment, languages and a high technical profile are key points for a worker starting his professional activity in the company.

Lastly, the speakers commented on their experiences in the company, within each of the departments they are in charge of, and highlighted the importance of trust, direct contact with the client, and the added value of each person to achieve the objectives raised, as well as achieve professional growth within the reinsurer.

Finally, a question and answer session was opened to clarify doubts and provide more information to the students.
