Actuarial+: afternoons with companies

On October 16th, we were delighted to have Deloitte join us for a lecture series offered each academic year to students of the Master's in Actuarial and Financial Sciences.

The talk was given by Svetlozar Mindov, from Deloitte's Insurance Team.

He began the presentation with a brief overview of his experience at the company before moving on to discuss Solvency II: what it is, how it is applied, its structure, and how it differs from Solvency I, among other aspects.

The speaker also dedicated a few minutes to explaining to the students what the Own Risk Solvency Assessment (ORSA) is.

During the session, he provided real-world examples to help students better understand all that is involved in this process. He also addressed the objectives and key aspects of the ORSA and how new scenarios (war, pandemic, etc.) have made it necessary for companies to calibrate, replan, and monitor new risks and consider how they can be insured.

At the end of the presentation, a Q&A session was opened, during which students participated to clarify doubts and expand on the information. At the end, he provided a QR code for students to learn about the internship opportunities offered by the company
