On March 11, the first networking event sponsored by the SOA in Madrid took place in the Auditorium of the Madrid-Puerta de Toledo campus in collaboration with the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.

The speakers at the event were Alberto Ábalo, FSA, SOA Ambassador in Spain and CEO of Munich Re Life and Health - Southern Europe and Latin America; and Federico Tassara, ASA, member of the SOA International Committee and Business Development Manager of Munich Re Life and Health - Southern Europe and Latin America for the Society of Actuaries; and Sofía Oliva and José Luis Palacios, both members of the Board of Directors of the UC3M Association of Actuaries.

At the event, UC3M was officially awarded its UCAP-AC accreditation, a recognition that reinforces the quality of actuarial training offered by the university.

In addition, the new content incorporated by the SOA into its actuarial exams was presented, along with new certification options through microcredentials and certificate courses, and the benefits of SOA membership.

The activity was primarily aimed at the university community in Spain and Latin America, especially students interested in actuarial and financial training.

After an overview of the actuarial profession, candidates were given tips for successful exam performance and tools to support their journey toward credentialing and an international career. Participants were also given five free registrations for the P/FM exams (each valued at USD 270).
