First of all, Sergio Gosálbez, Head of the Actuarial Modeling Center, began by presenting Management Solutions as a business consulting company with an international presence. They explained how they differ from other consultancies oriented to the strategic or technological field and that in their case they focus on advising on business, finance, risks, organization and processes, among others. In addition, they explained what the type of consultancy they carry out in the company consists of, explaining how they accompany the different client companies to carry out their plans (they accompany their technical note, calculate their solvency, etc.).
Next, he focused on the insurance part, explaining how the department is organized (Strategic Plan, Commercial Management and Marketing, Risk Management and Control, Financial Management Information, Digital Transformation and New Technologies) and discussing with the students the projects that were carried out and the type of companies with which they work (especially regulated industries), dividing IRFS17 projects into 60%, Pricing projects into 20%, and Solvency II projects into 10% they act as an external service to the companies and another 10% in R&D projects, especially related to climate change.
To continue, he spoke about issues related to promotion within the company and the inclusion of workers in day-to-day life: promotion of workers through internal training, and individual career plan based on meritocracy in which promotion is carried out. Annual, commitment to dynamism in the workplace (projects of various kinds and with different clients), good work environment, young teams, etc. Isabel Perales explained the recruitment process (both for internships and employment), as well as the basic skills that are valued and commented on the different phases of the selection process.
