On November 28, students of the Master's Degree in Actuarial and Financial Sciences had the opportunity to take part in a practical workshop on how to face a selection process with Seguros Santalucía. Representing Santalucía were Zalena Castiñeira, Celia Blanco, Ángela Jorge, Carlos Crespo and Laura Collantes.
The workshop was organized in three parts:
How to create a relevant and well-structured CV to attract the attention of companies.
How to have a good LinkedIn profile.
How to properly face a job interview.
In each of the parts, the different members of the team gave advice and presented real cases so that the students could learn first-hand what companies look for when reviewing both the CVs of the candidates and their LinkedIn profiles, in order to subsequently focus on the most relevant questions and queries when making a good first impression in the face-to-face interview. Each section also included a practical exercise that the students completed in pairs or groups of three, which helped them to learn about the small mistakes or errors that are usually made when creating and distributing CVs and LinkedIn profiles, as well as the most common blunders that can be avoided in face-to-face interviews.
Finally, a brief presentation of the company was made, outlining its values and strengths and how the company has continued to grow to have a presence both nationally and internationally, and a question period was opened to clarify doubts and provide more information to the attendees.
